Scholarship Description: Applicants are invited to a maximum of 6 BSU studentships funded by the MRC and 2 BSU studentships funded by the INDH at the University of Cambridge. Home / European and international students can apply.
Scholarship Provider: The University of Cambridge is one of the oldest universities and academic centers in the world. It consists of more than 150 departments, faculties, schools, and other institutions.
Cambridge also has 31 colleges that are independent institutions, each with its own property and income. Colleges designate their own staff on their own terms and conditions and are responsible for selecting students in accordance with their own regulations. The teaching of students is shared between college and university departments. The diplomas are awarded by the university.
Degree Level: Studentships are available to pursue PhD programme.
Available Subject: The BSU is an internationally renowned research unit specializing in statistical modeling and its application to the sciences of medicine, biology or public health. The details of the work done in the unit will be displayed on our search page.
Number of Scholarships: Up to 8 studentships are available.
Eligible Nationalities: Home / EU Students can apply. international candidates are also welcome. Successful applications will be evaluated and entered into the Cambridge Trust Fellowship Competition.

Applications from international candidates are also welcome and successful applications will be ranked and entered into the Cambridge Trust scholarship competition. Applicants can select up to 3 supervisors/projects, although this is not a requirement. Applicants should have or expect to obtain the equivalent of a 2nd class upper degree. Whilst we would usually expect this degree to be in mathematics, statistics or a related discipline, we welcome applications from outside these areas provided applicants can demonstrate significant additional relevant experience within at least one of these areas. A master’s degree in statistics or related disciplines is considered desirable, but not essential. In addition, the department requires that all potential students meet the language requirements for admission at the time of the survey.
